Each province and territory in Canada has its own court system. Canada also has a federal court system that deals with federal matters such as immigration, taxation, and intellectual property. The Federal Court is not to be confused with the Supreme Court of Canada which is the highest court for all of the provincial and territorial court systems as well as for the federal court system.
